We currently have two highly specialised teams working on the basement conversion and refurbishment in Wandsworth Common.
Being an established basement conversion company with access to large teams of builders with experience in different elements of the project is hugely important for large projects like this as it saves time and improves efficiency.
Below ground a team continue to work on digging out the earth to create the new level. They have made really good progress and there are just three underpins left to insert. These pins will provide the new supports for the house.
From there, they will be tasked with removing the mass of earth from the middle, laying the subterranean drainage and then the concrete slab, which will form the floor of the room. Then the focus becomes on creating the interior layout.
The second team have taken down the conservatory and removed the little roof at the back of the house and are starting to break up and remove the concrete that forms the floor in these rooms.
The current kitchen lacks head height, so while we build the basememt we are dropping the floor by 190mm. This will create the illusion of even more space in their new rear extension and mean the floor is all on one level. It is a brilliant example of the little touches that make a huge difference to the end result.
